THE STRAITS TIMES (APR'22 - JUL'22)
This was a feature story on people with disabilities and how they find romance. Ms Lily Goh is deaf and communicates with others through sign language. As I sat through the interview, I found that the correspondent's inspiration for this article was a book titled Can I Love? by Oh Boon Keng, who has muscular dystrophy. With that in mind, I proposed to Ms Goh to sign the answer "I Can Love" as a response to the question. To me, it felt more meaningful and significant for Ms Goh to answer the question herself rather than through the writer or the interpreter.
This was a feature story on toy photographers. My photograph is the one in the middle. The newsmaker has an extensive collection of toys, and I wanted to show his hobby's photography and toy collection aspect. Hence, we laid out some of his toys so that I could fill the frame with them. With the newsmaker placed in the centre, I was hoping to place him in a way that immersed him among his toys.
